PTA
Welcome to
the Ashgrove School Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We are a group of
parents, staff representatives including the Principal or Assistant Principal
and Board of Trustees (BOT) representatives. The Annual General Meeting is held
in March where the election of Chairperson, Assistant Chairperson, Treasurer,
Deputy Treasurer, Secretary and Deputy Secretary is conducted.
The primary
function of the PTA is to raise funds for the direct benefit of the school, and
to organise social activities including school discos and mufti days.
Past PTA
events have included a Gala, cookie time, quiz night, discos, mufti days and
calendars. Previous fund-raising has contributed to the hall kitchen white-ware,
hall curtains, library shelves, sports equipment and uniforms, sound and
lighting system for the hall, monetary contributions to each classroom for
Christmas activities and much more. We are currently fund-raising for an
upgrade of the school playground which will benefit the whole of Ashgrove School
members.
We are also
looking ahead to 2009, and anticipate some wonderful events. We also welcome
any new and fresh ideas that staff and families have for fund-raising events.
The PTA meets
monthly, in term time, on the second Tuesday of each month. The date for each
PTA meeting is listed in the weekly Bulletin that is sent home with the eldest
in the family or can be viewed on the schools website. Meetings commence at
7.30pm in the staff room at school. Everyone is welcome to attend, and we
encourage anyone interested in learning more about the school to attend a
meeting.
