Welcome to the Senior Learning Team. We have had a rather busy beginning of the term with camp organisation, swimming and establishing classroom routines. We would like thank all parents who have assisted with or nominated themselves to assist with parent help for these events, as we are very appreciative of their support. In particular we would like to thank the food committee for everything they have done to ensure we go away to camp with adequate food and a nutritious menu and the parents who have offered to go on camp - we would not be able to do this without your assistance!
What is happening this term?
We have individual class camps from Week 5 to Week 9. Also in Week 5 are
the school swimming sports in the new pool at Dudley, and Parent interviews with
the pupils for Goal Setting. Our Inquiry Unit has been deferred to Term 2
because of camp commitments. Already our Senior boys and girls cricket
teams have had success in the Milo competition. Please continue to ask
your child for notices, ensuring that you are kept up to date with syndicate
activities.
Technology
Rooms 17 and 18 are attending Rangiora Borough on Mondays for Technology.
It sounds like they are thoroughly enjoying this experience and learning heaps.
Please familiarise yourself with the safety information provided on the initial
technology letter. If you require a copy of this please see the class teacher.

Remember to keep an eye on the fortnightly bulletin. It will keep you up to date with what is going on. |

It is important to remind students of the uniform requirements for Ashgrove School. In particular, make up (lip gloss), skate shoes and jewellery have already been an issue this term. |
|
It is summer and the sun is still shining, so please ensure that students have sunhats on during playtimes, lunchtimes and P.E. lessons. |
Finally, we are looking forward to a productive and exciting term that has a strong focus on building secure relationships and developing students’ self-awareness and self-confidence.
