Hi, we are a group of 20 senior students selected to be your school councillors. We are looking forward to contributing to the life and energy of Ashgrove School and are excited about the opportunities for leadership and responsibility this position holds.
Our main responsibility is to represent the Ashgrove students and ensure that Ashgrove School remains the best place to learn. We are each assigned a learning team level that we will have regular contact with and will act as their voice on the council.
We are currently seeking ideas from the students for ways in which we can improve our school. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear from you, our Ashgrove families, as well. The school council are busy putting together an action plan for events and fundraising activities that will help us achieve our goals.
Mufti days and other fun days are on our agenda so look out for these.
Later in the year we will be going on a Leadership camp to further develop our leadership skills and give us the confidence and knowledge to lead in a positive and responsible way. Our role in the school is an important one and we are committed to doing our very best to promote Ashgrove School as a great place to learn and play.
We will keep you up to date with our progress and plans through the newsletter and home notices. So look out for our "School Council Updates" and join in the fun as we continue to "Grow together for Success" as an Ashgrove community.
Our first Mufti Day was held held on Friday 1st March. The proceeds from this will go towards supporting the "Relay for Life" that the school council members will be taking part in on 23rd and 24th March. Come on down to the Rangiora Showgrounds and support, "Ashgrove Team Smurfs" as they run and walk to support the cancer society.
Thank you for your continuing support.
